After the last long weekend this month, the state of Tamaulipas registered over 206 thousand visitors, informed Fernando Olivera Rocha.
Compared with the previous long weekend the state had a 72% increase in the number visitors, specially the beach destinations. Bagdad beach had an increase of visitors of 128%, for la Pesca beach the increase was of 94% and an increase of 80% for Miramar Beach.
Since the reopening, the beach destination of Miramar has received 50 thousand visitors, La Pesca Beach has received over 72 thousand visitors, over 33 thousand have visited Bagdad Beach and Barra del Tordo has been visited by 5 thousand people.
It is important to highlight the positive response of the public to the biosecurity protocols implemented at the beach destination. They are also getting familiarized with the “Compra Tam” app to make an advance reservation of a spot at any of the de state´s beaches.
The municipality of Gomez Farias, home the “El Cielo” Biosphere Reserve, has an increased number of visitors. Thousands of people come to enjoy the peace, nature and the beauty of this stunning natural area.
For this long weekend, the hotels of the area reported an occupancy of 75% of their capacity and an occupancy of 60% in La Pesca. This is the highest occupancy rate since the reopening of the state´s tourism industry.
