The state of Tamaulipas was recognized for the third consecutive year with the “Tourism Excellence” award, praised for the project “360° Marketing, reactivation of tourism in Tamaulipas through technology”, through the application “Buy Tam”.
The award ceremony was part of the activities of the Madrid International Tourism Fair (FITUR), which is based in the capital of Madrid and considered the most important world forum for the industry.
In a projected message, the Secretary of Tourism of Tamaulipas, Fernando Olivera Rocha, expressed his thanks for this new distinction that recognizes the innovative practices implemented in the state to reactivate tourism, a sector of vital importance for economic and social development in the state.
“Thanks to “Compra Tam”, better control of capacity on beaches and tourist destinations was fulfilled, generating a faster recovery; maintaining beaches, nature destinations and tourist sites open throughout 2021,” said Olivera Rocha.
Another achievement for Tamaulipas during the awards ceremony was the recognition given to the Tampico restaurant “Los Curricanes”, thanks to its eco-sustainable business model.
After receiving this prize, the Tamaulipas chef Ricardo de Gorordo Cantú, dedicated the award to all the members of his team and the value chain that allows them to enrich the community with social actions, promoting equal and sustainable growth.
The panel that honored Tamaulipas with the “Tourist Excellences 2021” award was made up of world tourism figures from 9 countries and headed by the president of the Excelencias Group, José Carlos Santiago.
