The Magic Towns of Tula and Mier participated successfully in the 2nd national online Magic Towns Tradeshow (Tianguis Pueblos Magicos), hosted by Mexico´s Ministry of Tourism, reported Fernando Olivera Rocha, head of Tourism in Tamaulipas.

 

The Tamaulipas representation held 95 online appointments with tour operators, travel agencies and promoters, and promoted the beauties of Mier and Tula, both Tamaulipas Magic Towns.

 

Authorities, tour guides and members of the local committees held these meetings that will support the actions to promote the destinations. Initially, this tradeshow was to take place in the capital of San Luis Potosí, but due to the COVID – 19 pandemic became an online event.

 

This event also allows visitors to appreciate and purchase products made by artisans from Tula and Mier, being an excellent showcase for the promotion of their wonderful crafts. Especially leather goods such as purses, hats, boots. All the products shown on the online catalog are full of history, color, and tradition.

 

Representing the Magic Town of Mier, participated Carlos Gerardo Hinojosa Mireles, Director of Tourism; Abel Flores Nava, tour guide; Daniel García Alvarado; tour operator and Carmen Alicia Guerra Ríos, member of the local Magic Town Committee.

 

On the other hand, Tula was attended by Fidel Fernando Martínez, Municipal Director of Tourism; Jorge Luis García, CANACO Tula; Arturo Ibarra, Roberto Nieto and María Guadalupe Vargas, tourist services providers, as well as Councilor Juana Guadalupe Báez.
