Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas. – The state of Tamaulipas participated in the first hybrid event of the MICE industry, the World Meetings Forum, Los Cabos 2020, reported the state Secretary of Tourism, Fernando Olivera Rocha.
In the virtual component of the event, Tamaulipas was represented by the TAM Convention and Visitors Bureau on 35 online business meetings, creating business opportunities and networking.
From the work carried out during the forum, webinars and online meetings will be scheduled to nominate Tamaulipas as a MICE destination for 2021. Tamaulipas has modern venues and is ready to receive visitors once again.
As part of Tamaulipas´ tourism recovery promotion strategies, is the participation in this kind of events which allows the reconnection with the meetings professionals. The state tourism office is working on new projects to secure business leads and give the meeting industry of Tamaulipas every opportunity to recover.
The World Meetings Forum brings together highly qualified buyers and vendors from the global event industry facilitating business opportunities for all participants. This edition used the newest technology for the online component of the event.
Given the impossibility of having an event at a larger scale, due to the health and safety restrictions to contain the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the realization of this edition had a participation of 200 people between event organizers, vendors, and CVBs from all over the country.
As of international participants, there were representatives from France, the Dominican Republic, Peru, Colombia, and the Czech Republic.
