Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas. - Thanking his love for Tamaulipas, his passion for a job well done and the support given to state projects, the Tamaulipas Secretary of Tourism, Fernando Olivera Rocha, led the last meeting of municipal directors before leaving office.
“Pride is a word that comes to my mind after listening to each one of you. In these 3 years, joint working has renewed the image of Tamaulipas as a tourist destination. When we talk about tourism, we must recognize the effort of the State of Tamaulipas Government in terms of security, being our Governor´s García Cabeza de Vaca priority”, said Olivera Rocha.
Since their creation, these meetings have established a direct communication channel with municipal tourism managers. Publicizing the state tourism strategies implemented, creating joint programs, and preparing annual action plans, thus strengthening the team.
During the virtual meeting, the municipalities that managed to position themselves among the first places in areas such as training, professionalization of their tour operators were recognized.
Also, the promotion of important projects such as state tourist guides and those related to health and biosafety protocols implementation.
In this virtual meeting also participated the Undersecretary of Health Tourism Management and Binational Affairs José Luis Martínez Portilla and the Undersecretary of Tourism Development and Promotion Edgar E. Solís Islas. Among their interventions, the officials resumed the programs, actions, and joint efforts to promote the tourist calling of “La Sorpresa de México”.
