Tampico International Airport Reopens
Tampico, Tamaulipas. – As part of the economic reactivation program, the largest operating terminal in the state of Tamaulipas, the Tampico “Francisco Javier Mina” International Airport will return to its normal operations.
Being an essential aspect in Tamaulipas’s tourism and economy, the Tampico “Francisco Javier Mina” International Airport administration is currently working hand in hand with Tamaulipas authorities to make sure that the resumption of airport operations will not expose the passengers and staff to various safety and health risks.
Certain health measures and protocols will be implemented. Some of them include the use of sanitizing mats, plexiglass barriers in counters, sanitation tunnels, and thermal scanning. Wearing of face masks will be strictly required inside the airport. Airport security will also be strict about the non-entry of non-fliers except for unaccompanied minors and people who need assistance like the elderly or PWDs. Digital boarding passes will be the new norm. Travelers will also be required to come to airport early to make sure that they will undergo all the health protocols which will surely require time.
Additional information on flight frequencies: Aeromexico will launch an additional flight starting on June 22. The resumption of Viva Aerobus flights from Monterrey and Cancun is slated on June 15. TAR’s connecting flights (Querataro and Ciudad del Carmen) will happen 4 times a week.
