Recognizing the correct cleaning practices, water quality and environmental management, Miramar beach, Tamaulipas’s greatest tourist promenade, received for the third consecutive time the Blue Flag international distinction, granted by the Foundation for Environmental Education.
This new achievement joins the national certifications that Miramar has, as well as being the first inclusive beach in the Gulf of Mexico, a project promoted during the administration of the Governor of Tamaulipas, Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca.
Federal, state, municipal authorities and representatives of the foundation that grants this globally recognized distinction met at the hoisting ceremony, held in the inclusive step.
“Since we started with this joint project, the State Government and the municipality have worked with the support of other instances, volunteers and civil society groups that have allowed us to achieve this important distinction. Today I would like to recognize their work and highlight the importance of their effort, because thanks to the work carried out, Miramar Beach stands out as a tourist destination in the Gulf of Mexico and at the national level, not only for its beauty and spectacular nature, but also for the promotion of best practices”, said Secretary Olivera Rocha.
Before concluding with his message, the head of Tourism in Tamaulipas invited the municipal president Oseguera Kernion to continue along the same route, achieving new distinctions for Miramar beach. Recognizing the care and cleanliness that is carried out in this destination and that has allowed us to achieve outstanding achievements such as national and international certifications.
Adrián Oseguera Kernion, mayor of Ciudad Madero; Joaquín Díaz Ríos, Executive Director of the Foundation for Environmental Education of Mexico and Fernando Olivera Rocha, Secretary of Tourism of Tamaulipas.
