Tamaulipas Tourism Sec, Active in Tourism Forums
To further spread the best things about Tamaulipas before Mexico reopens the country for tourism, Fernando Olivera Rocha, Secretary of Tourism of the State of Tamaulipas, actively participates in major online local and international tourism forums.
The secretary recently attended the online forum “COVID-19 Tourism Planning and Recovery Strategies” initiated by the Outdoor Recreation Industry Association of Puerto Rico where he talked about the domestic and global effects of the pandemic on tourism. He has also given his insights on the recovery and reactivation strategies. Aside from this, Rocha also talked about the various courses of action the governor of Tamaulipas, Francisco Garcia Cabeza de Vaca, has taken to control the spread of COVID-19 in the state. Rocha also revealed the various plans of the state to reactivate the tourism industry such as the promotion of Tamaulipas as a clean and safe destination, the use of modern technologies to implement the plan, and other topics.
The secretary also participated in Universidad Panamericana’s “Towards the New Normality: Challenges of Tourism Communication in Mexico.” Along with Rocha, the state tourism heads of Michoacan and Hidalgo were also chosen as resource speakers of this virtual forum.
Rocha was also chosen as a special guest in the Quito Tourist Board’s “Destination Management, Promotion and Positioning” forum. He was joined by Quito Tourist Board’s General Manager Carla Cardenas and journalist and travel/tourism writer Galo Martin.
