- This project of the Tamaulipas Tourism office has the participation of 145 students, from tour operator to local government employees.

Ciudad Victoria, Tamaulipas. - Counting with an excellent engagement from the participants, the “TAM Tour Guides” State Certification Program has been a success. This is an initiative of the State Tourism Office.
Fernando Olivera Rocha, head of State Tourism, reported the145 students are currently taking this certification program, and thanks to the support of the Universidad Autonoma de Tamaulipas, before the end of this year, this new professional tour guides will be able to promote the historical sites and the cultural heritage of Tamaulipas.
Of the 145 students, 125 are tour guides, 1 is a tour operator employee and 20 are government employees of 18 municipalities. Currently, the students are learning about the Tourism Legislation. The State Congress, through the Tourism Commission is overseeing this topic.
Other topics to be covered in this program are art history, anthropology and ethnology, communication skills, and many more. Each topic is imparted by a specialist.

Algunas de las materias que verán más adelante los futuros guías estatales son Historia General del Arte, Etnografía y Arte Popular Tamaulipeco, Arqueología de Tamaulipas, Relaciones Humanas, Técnicas de Comunicación y Cultura Turística, siendo impartidas por personal del ITCA, INAH, UAT y UTMART.
